Latierra is a current graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Northcentral University, a COAMFTE-accredited university and works as a student intern under the supervision of Alyssa Calderon, LMFT. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Psychology. She also has been awarded as a candidate in Minority Fellowship Program 2023-2024 through AAMFT, working in community outreach for minority youth. Latierra believes in working with clients through deconstructing their stories to meet their therapeutic needs while providing a comfortable and safe space. Latierra works from Narrative therapy and Solution-focused brief therapy approaches that help clients with acute situations and historical patterns. She credits her passion in providing mental health services where she worked as a Certified Medical Assistant in Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery. Assisting patients made her an active listener with an empathetic and humanistic approach. Combined with her passion for social justice, reducing stigma, inclusion, and diversity amongst LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community. Her interests include traumatic responses, body imagery/food relationships, relationship issues, and career transitioning amongst individuals and couples through encouragement in an accepting environment.
